Bath Abbey re-opening for private prayer

Bath Abbey will re-open today, Monday 15 June, for private prayer in partnership with churches across Bath. The Abbey’s opening times will be: Mondays – Saturdays – 4.30pm-6pm, and Sundays – 11am-1pm.

Individuals can come in to pause and reflect, pray or light a candle. Chaplains will also be available to offer their support and prayers. We look forward to welcoming people to the Abbey and are taking every care to ensure a Covid safe way for prayer. This includes providing hand sanitiser, one-way systems around the Abbey, social distancing and providing fewer chairs in the nave.

The Bath Abbey clergy team says: “We are overjoyed that the Abbey will now be open for private prayer. We recognise that many of us are grieving losses of many kinds and are facing heightened levels of fear and anxiety. The Abbey is a place to come to God. At the same time we continue to offer online resources to support each other and the city of Bath through this difficult period.”

In addition to opening our doors to the public for prayer, the church continues to provide daily worship online and support with prayer.
