Bath Abbey

Worship

Normal service times may be altered over the Advent and Christmas period. Please refer to our What’s On Calendar before your visit.

The voice of Bath Abbey

From morning prayer to Evensong, Christmas carols to wedding bells, Bath Abbey rings out with the sound of worship. It can be a softly spoken prayer or the rich notes of our choirs, an inspiring passage in a sermon or bible stories brought to life for children. This is a place to listen and sing, hear and be heard.

Learn more about our services, and when our world-class choir will be filling the Abbey with music – or, if you can’t join us this week, listen to inspiring sermons at home. Discover groups and get-togethers for parents, children and young people, and meet the clergy and musicians who make it all happen. Spoken word and singing voices – it’s all here.

Contact us

If you’re new to the Abbey and would like to become more involved in Abbey life, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact us by email: office@bathabbey.org or by calling 01225 422462 and a member of clergy will be in touch with you.

Mission Action Plan

The purpose of Bath Abbey is to “Live and Tell the Good News of Jesus”. To find out more about how that purpose is worked out, through the Abbey’s Vision and Mission priorities, please see our Mission Action Plan.

Praying in Bath Abbey

You are invited to come into the Abbey to pause and reflect, pray or light a candle. The Birde Chapel and Gethsemane Chapel are open and chaplains are available to offer their support and prayers.

Online Prayer Requests

We recognise that not everyone is able to visit the Abbey and we invite you to submit a prayer request online for yourself, for those you love or for those elsewhere in the world. Your requests will be read and offered up by a Bath Abbey priest and a small team of specially appointed members.

May you know God’s strength, comfort and peace at this time.

Please email us your request to prayer@bathabbey.org. We would be grateful if you’re able to keep your requests to a maximum of 150 words. God bless.
