Children & Youth Groups

The Abbey welcomes children and young people of all ages, particularly to the 9.30am Parish Communion Service, when there are group activities for:

Creche Babies - 2 year olds
Sparklers Up to School Reception
All Stars School years 1 - 3
Fireworks Year 4 upwards

Children are invited to begin the service sitting with their families for the first 15 minutes. The leaders then take the children into their groups to do different activities such as crafts, singing, drama and discussion surrounding the Scripture Union material being taught that week, all being tailored so that it is interesting and appropriate to the different age groups.

Everyone rejoins the congregation in time for Communion or a Blessing with their families. Towards the end of the service, there is sometimes an opportunity to ‘show and tell’ something from the morning’s activities.

Anchor (Bath Abbey Youth Group)

We meet every Monday evening during term time from 5.45pm to 7.15pm. It is a great opportunity for our young people to share food (all prepared for them!), have fun and be led in a Christian discussion, Bible study and prayers on topics relevant for today. Anchor also hosts regular socials twice a term to encourage friends to come along and have some fun. Boys and girls aged 11 to 18 years all welcome.
