In 2015 renowned choral director Nigel Perrin realised a long-cherished ambition to travel with a group of invited singers along the Camino de Santiago pilgrim route in northern Spain. The choir he formed, Voces del Camino, presented recitals in Lugo and Santiago Cathedrals.

Reunited in 2017, the group travelled across Catalunya, performing in Gerona, Montserrat and Barcelona.

In 2019, gathered together for a third pilgrimage, Voces del Camino returned to the Camino itself, giving concerts at Logrono and Burgos Cathedrals. With Spanish renaissance music at its heart, the programme explored contrasting settings of three familiar sacred texts: Salve Regina, Ego Flos Campi and O Sacrum Convivium.

This repeat performance features music by Marenzio, Victoria, Poulenc, de Padilla, Messiaen and Guerrero. It takes place in Bath Abbey on Saturday 15 February 2020 at 7.00pm and lasts approximately one hour, with no interval. Admission is free, with a retiring collection in support of Bath Abbey’s Footprint Project. The Brownsword Charitable Foundation will be matching all donations to the retiring collection.
