Weybridge Male Voice Choir

Today’s Lunchtime Recital sees the Weybridge Male Voice Choir en route to a major festival in Cornwall where they will sing in competition with 14 other choirs and in 3 concerts across Cornwall.

Formed in 1921, the choir is a lively team of over fifty members with a long and successful history, enjoying an enviable reputation for performance quality and entertainment value; and proud of its record in raising funds for many local and national charities. Membership has recovered exceptionally well from Covid, and the choir again regularly attracts large audiences.

They maintain an exciting, varied repertoire, all performed in the spine-tingling four-part harmony unique to traditional male voice choral singing, with some traditional repertoire and some more modern songs.

In 2014, they were delighted to recruit the very young Jonathan Kilhams, now celebrating 10 years as Musical Director. With his energetic, supportive and innovative approach, he has successfully introduced music that appeals to younger singers and audiences. And young accompanist, Tom Kelsey, has great understanding of the choir and Johnny; and is also a great solo pianist, as you’ll hear in the recital.
