CANCELLED: Lunchtime Recital – Utah Valley Chamber Choir
Sat 23 May at 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm
The Utah Valley University Chamber Choir is composed of thirty-two undergraduates who share a passion for collective vocal artistry. The choir fearlessly seeks to embody the highest standards of musical excellence with vulnerability, drama, unity, and compassion. Singers annually engage with cultures beyond their own while on performance tours to locations such as Spain, China, the East and West Coasts of the United States, and southern England (May 2020). With the direction of Dr. Reed Criddle, the UVU Chamber Choir has twice performed at the National Conference of the National Collegiate Choral Organization and the Western Division Conference of ACDA, as well as numerous Utah state conferences of ACDA and UMEA.
Dr. Reed Criddle is Director of Choral Activities at Utah Valley University, where he coordinates four university choirs, conducts the UVU Chamber Choir and Men’s Choir, and teaches conducting and voice. Dr. Criddle has served as president of the Utah chapter of ACDA. His compositions and arrangements are available through Earthsongs, Hal Leonard, and Santa Barbara Music Publishing. As a conductor-musicologist and Fulbright Senior Scholar, he has researched Buddhist chant, conducted ensembles, and led workshops around the globe. His book Chanting the Medicine Buddha Sutra is forthcoming with A-R Editions in 2020.
