Lunchtime Recital – St George’s School Chamber Choir
Tue 15 February at 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm
An integral part of the school founded in 1348 to educate the choristers of St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, the Chamber Choir of St George’s School has a busy schedule of concerts and services. As well as singing regularly in the Chapel, the Choir performs in and around Windsor and further afield. Having a lighter schedule of regular services means the Choir can undertake other exciting endeavours; before Christmas, a performance of Handel’s Messiah was given in Covent Garden, with the children not only singing the chorus parts, but enjoying the majority of the solos. Other projects have included recordings, tours and collaborations with other choirs. The Choir provides a platform for those children who have a deep love of music and singing, with a significant number of the young singers going on to junior conservatoires and music scholarships.
