Lunchtime Recital – Songbird Strings of Texas
Mon 31 July, 2023 at 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm
Songbird Strings of Texas hails from the famously musical city of Austin, Texas. Representing the Songbird Rising Suzuki School and honoring a combined 100+ years of dedicated study, our students are excited to showcase their hard work with a program of classical, fiddle, and popular music. Aged from 7 to 16, these impressive young students are sure to wow with a musicality that defies their age.
Songbird Rising students have been performing at Austin events for many years. From farmer’s markets to festivals, busking to formal recitals, school and regional orchestras, these kids have done it all.
The ensemble’s story is told in the school’s ideals: Growth, Joy, and Community, and by a long-held dream of director, Laura Poyzer to return to her homeland with her students. Across Edinburgh, Chester, Bristol, Bath, and London, our performance celebrates friendship, fun, and enthusiasm for new experiences. The tour is an incredible opportunity for our student’s growth as musicians and as people. We welcome you to join us, enjoy our performance, and become a part of what is sure to be one of the most formative and memorable experiences of these young musicians’ lives.
