Lunchtime Recital – Charlotte Whittle & Friends

Join Charlotte Whittle (soprano), cellist Peter Thewless and pianist Sian Davies (Welsh National Opera) for an afternoon celebrating the magic of Christmas. They invite you to join the them to escape from the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping to relax in the warm, enchanting atmosphere that only Christmas music can create.
Featuring music from composers such as Mozart, Holst, Gounod, plus your holiday favourites!
Charlotte Whittle is a soprano from the Kingdom of Fife in Scotland, residing in Cardiff, Wales. Recent performances include November 2023 where Charlotte performed as Third Norn and Gutrune in Cardiff Opera’s Götterdämmerung (Wagner.) She appeared as Elettra (Idomeneo) with the Heisenberg Ensemble and recently made her debut as First Lady in Mozart’s The Magic Flute in St Andrew’s, Fife, earlier this year. As well as performing opera, Charlotte is a regular recitalist having sang in Bristol Cathedral, St Giles Edinburgh, Stirling Castle to name but a few. She is delighted to be returning to Bath Abbey to sing some of her favourite Christmas music.
Sian Davies completed her repetiteur course at Wales Academy of Voice. During her course, Sian was asked to be a repetiteur for Mark Llewellyn Evan’s ABC of Opera. She was invited to work as a repetiteur with Welsh National Opera on their youth and community projects as well as their youth opera. Sian has accompanied for masterclasses with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Susan Bullock, Joyce Fieldsend, and many others.
Peter Thewless has enjoyed playing in various ensembles providing music for Welsh Independent Dance, circus and theatre groups in addition to more conventional quartet and recital work. He lives in South Wales.
