Lunchtime Piano Recital – Neo Hung

Neo Hung started his first piano lesson at the tender age of six in Hong Kong and gave his first solo piano recital at 13. He entered the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts two years afterwards under the tutelage of Julie Kuok. He is currently studying piano with Dina Parakhina, and harpsichord with Robert Woolley, at the Royal College of Music in London, with a full scholarship awarded by the HKSAR government for both his outstanding academic and artistic performances.
Neo made his concerto debut in Music Fest Perugia with Chopin’s Piano Concerto No.1 in summer 2023. He has also performed internationally in the UK, the USA, Spain, Italy and his home city of Hong Kong.
Neo has also gained inspiration in masterclasses and classes given by artists such as Menno van Delft, Sofya Gulyak, Niel Immelman, Marina Lomazov, Gabriel Kwok, Alexandre Moutouzkine, Jerome Rose, Eleanor Wong and Jerome Lowenthal, who praised him as “an outstanding pianist”.
Recently, Neo was awarded 3rd Prize in the 2023 Liszt Society International Piano Competition in the UK, chaired by the renowned pianist Leslie Howard, and received an honorary mention in the final round of the Piano Competition in Festival Internacional de Piano en Malaga 2023 in Spain. He is a prizewinner in the 10th Zhongsin International Music Competition (China), the Fifth Japan-Hong Kong International Music Competition (Japan), Internationaler Bonn Klassik Klavierwettbewerb (Germany), Hong Kong International Youth Performance Arts Festival, Hong Kong Music Talent and Performance Award, among many others.
