Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols 2019
Mon 23 December, 2019 at 7:30 pm until 8:30 pm
A beautiful service based around nine Bible readings interspersed with Christmas hymns and carols sung by the Abbey Choir of Boys and Lay-Clerks.
Entry is by (free) ticket only. We’re very sorry but tickets for BOTH services have now been allocated.
Please note that there MAY be a limited number of returned tickets on the day for both services. If you would like to queue for these, please arrive about half an hour before the start of each service. While we’ll try our best to find you a seat, please be advised there is no guarantee.
We thank you for your patience and support. Our churchwardens will, in every case, make the process as fair as it can possibly be, and will be glad of everyone’s co-operation and understanding.
FOLLOW THE STAR:
Our hope is for everyone to have a meaningful and memorable experience of worship during Advent and Christmas. Regretfully, our seating capacity this year is greatly reduced due to essential building work. While we have increased the number of major services, unfortunately not everyone will be able to get a ticket. Furthermore, many seats will have limited or no direct sight of the area from where the service is being led.
For this reason, we are taking part in the Church of England’s #FollowtheStar campaign and have joined together with our sister church, St Michael’s Without in Broad Street, BA1, UK, to encourage as many people as possible who don’t regularly worship at the Abbey to attend a service at their local church. This aims to share with everyone the joy of going to a local church Christmas service or event, and encouraging everyone to go further on their Christian journey.
