When the War Came - Schools' Singing Programme concert

To commemorate 100 years since the end of WWI

Join us for an enchanting evening of choral music sung by a massed children’s choir of 250 pupils drawn from different primary schools in Bath. The children are all part of the Abbey’s Schools’ Singing Programme, which brings the joy of singing to thousands of school children in Bath and surrounding areas.

Due to popular demand, we are repeating our performance of 'When the War Came' which was first sung in June 2018.

'When the War Came' tells the story of six young people from a small village whose lives are changed forever when the Great War comes to them.

Words: Sue Curtis; Music: Jools Scott.

Performed by a massed choir of children from Bath Abbey's Schools’ Singing Programme accompanied by players from the Bristol Ensemble, with Jon Monie as the Narrator. Conducted by Shean Bowers.

Also includes a performance of Thomas Tallis's famous 40 part Motet, Spem in Alium by the Aquae Sulis Chorale

Tickets will be available from the Bath Box Office 01225 463362.
