Lunchtime Recital - Homburger Vokalensemble (Germany)

The “Homburger Vokalensemble” is a chamber choir (consisting of about 35 singers) from southwestern Germany, conducted by Ms. Carola Ulrich. It belongs to the protestant church (parish of Homburg/Saar).

Every other year, the choir goes on a tour, performing its’ a cappella programme at various churches. Previous performances have already included churches both in Germany, the Frauenkirche in Dresden (Church of our Lady) and the Thomaskirche in Leipzig (St. Thomas’ Church), as well as abroad at the Stefansdom in Vienna.

The choir’s present programme focuses on sacred music mainly dealing with the topic of “heaven”; apart from two motets by German composer Heinrich Schütz, it exclusively contains pieces by contemporary composers such as Hugo Distler and Simon Wawer.
