Choral Evensong
Sun 6 August, 2023 at 3:30 pm until 4:15 pm
This beautiful service lasts for approximately 45 minutes and combines the memorable cadences of Thomas Cranmer’s Book of Common Prayer with a distinctive repertoire of English Church music.
The Cathedral Singers of Ontario is an adult choir founded in 2000 for the purpose of singing as choir-in-residence for a week each summer at a British Cathedral or Abbey.
The choir has now sung in nearly every UK Cathedral including several visits to St. Paul’s Cathedral and Westminster Abbey.
The choir is directed by a former chorister and organ scholar of St. Paul’s, Ian Sadler.
On several occasions the choir has been led by guest choral conductors in the UK including Paul Trent (Ely), David Drinkell (Belfast) and Simon Lole (Salisbury). Following its weekend at Bath Abbey, The Cathedral Singers has a week’s residency at Bristol Cathedral.
The choir are also performing at Choral Evensong at 5pm on the Friday 5 August and at Sung Eucharist at 11.30am on Sunday 6 August.
