Bath Philharmonia & Pacific Chorale
Fri 21 July at 7:30 pm until 9:30 pm

Classical choral music at its best
The Grammy Award-Winning Pacific Chorale is one of America’s great choirs and ‘has risen to national prominence’ (Los Angeles Times) since its inception in 1968. Hailed for delivering ‘thrilling entertainment’, the resident choir at Segerstrom Centre for the Arts is noted for its artistic innovation and commitment to expanding the choral repertoire.
As part of an international tour, Pacific Chorale with Bath Philharmonia present Florence Price’s rediscovered Abraham Lincoln Walks at Midnight alongside Joseph Haydn’s stirring and majestic Nelson Mass in the glorious setting of Bath Abbey.
Thanks to the sensational recovery of dozens of her manuscripts from an abandoned house in 2009, the music of groundbreaking composer Florence Price is experiencing a deserved renaissance.
Although composed in vastly diffent times in reaction to vastly different circumstances on separate continents, both works convey powerful and profound messages of humanity relevant to today.
