Behind The Scenes Tours

Put on hard hats and take a sneak peek at the historic floor as it is saved from collapse and its 891 memorial stones are conserved. Our Behind the Scenes tours will visit parts of the Abbey that are usually off limits to members of the public, and thanks to our experienced guides, will discover just why there are so many memorial stones on the Abbey floor, why the floor is collapsing, and the complex work carried out to repair the floor as part of our Footprint Project, as well as some of the things the team of archaeologists have found out along the way.

Tours usually run at 11am and 2pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and at 2pm on Thursdays. Tours last about 1hr 15 mins. Please see below for variations to these times.
