Bath Abbey is asking for our community of family and friends to send us a video of you lighting a candle, that we can include in the online Advent service, 2020. This will help to bring what would normally be a large congregation into an online video.
If you'd like to be part of the service, please use a smartphone or camera to make a video of you lighting a candle. Please could we ask that you:
- make the film in landscape mode
- film it in the evening, ideally with some soft lighting, so we can see the candle
- include yourself and the candle but don't reveal too much of the background of your home because the video will be on YouTube
- stand your phone/camera on a tripod, or against a pile of books if you can, so it isn't too wobbly
- No words are needed as it will be set to music
You can upload your videos here. The deadline for this is 13 November to enable us to include them in the service which will be on 29th November.
By sending us a video you agree that we can incorporate it into the online Advent service and publish it on YouTube and social media.
