Leap of Faith - Abseil from Abbey Tower

On 15th June Genesis Trust Bath and Bath Abbey are inviting people to take part in a unique opportunity to abseil off the top of the Bath Abbey tower, 49 meters above the city. The aim is to raise funds for both the Genesis Trust, supporting vulnerable and homeless people locally, and the Bath Abbey’s Footprint Project.

Bath Abbey is the last great medieval cathedral to have been built in England and from its highest point offers stunning vistas across the city of Bath and beyond. Venturing up 212 steps to the top of the tower, participants will be harnessed to a rope before they abseil three-quarters of the way to the bottom.

The ‘Leap of Faith!’ is open to everyone on a first come, first served basis. All participants will be given training and supervision by a professional abseiling team, who are organising the logistics.

Details of how to register are here: http://genesistrust.org.uk/leap-of-faith/.

If you'd like to support our brave abseilers and would like to give a donation, please visit https://localgiving.org/fundraising/BathAbbeyabseil/

Your money will be split 50:50 between these two great causes: The Genesis Trust and the Abbey's Footprint project and furthermore every pound raised for Footprint will automatically be doubled thanks to the Brownsword Charitable Foundation, which is match-funding all donations to the Footprint project.
