One of the project aims was to involve as many people as possible with a significant part of their local heritage. Volunteers from the Abbey community were joined by members of the local NADFAS group (National Association of Decorative Fine Arts)

Annie Friedlander, Co-ordinator of the Bath DFAS group, said:

‘Since 1973, groups of NADFAS members have been recording the contents of churches and chapels throughout the UK, and Bath Afternoon DFAS volunteers were delighted to assist Bath Abbey with the recording of ledgerstones, using the knowledge of our members trained in church recording, and the support of training given by the Abbey.’
