We are delighted to be in a position now to extend our opening hours. From Monday 6th July, the Abbey will open for prayer and visiting from 10am to 4pm each day. We continue to pray for our clergy and staff as we plan for the right way forward, to discern a way to be the Church within and without the building, that is appropriate for the very new context in which we find ourselves.
We welcome all to join us, to pause and reflect, pray and light a candle. We pray for those who have died, for our loved ones from whom who we remain separated and for those still live with great fear and anxiety for their health, their businesses and their loved ones. We pray for our city leaders and the leaders of our businesses and institutions, that we may work together with courage and imagination, in this very new context.
In light of the Government and Bishop’s guidance on reopening places of worship for services, we continue to prayerfully consider how and when to recommence services in the Abbey, and we will keep you updated with any developments.
We are taking every care to ensure that as we open for prayer, services and visiting, the Abbey will offer a warm welcome and fully comply with all the government requirements to ensure we are Covid-safe.
