The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Service
Sunday 3 June, 10am
Bath Abbey and the Bath International Music Festival are delighted to announce a Service of Thanksgiving for the Diamond Jubilee of HM Queen Elizabeth II. The combined Abbey Choirs of Men, Girls and Boys will sing music selected from the 1952 Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey. They will be accompanied by the English Festival Brass, directed by Gavin Wells, and the great Klais Organ. The splendidCoronation Te Deum by Sir William Walton and William Byrd’s O Lord, make thy servant Elizabeth as well as the spine-tingling I was glad by Sir Hubert Parry, last heard in Westminster Abbey at the wedding of HRHs Prince William and Princess Catherine, will provide a regal festival of British music to enable the City of Bath to give thanks for our Sovereign Lady Queen Elizabeth II.
This service is open to anyone who would like to attend and join in this special celebrations. We will be implementing a system of free tickets available from Abbey Shop (14 May onwards) or a limited number on the door during the day of the service.
