Group Bookings

All groups wishing to visit the Abbey should contact Dawn Farmer, our Visitors Officer, in advance to check availability of dates and times. To avoid disappointment, we recommend that you make your booking at least two weeks in advance.

Booking is essential as many services and special events take place in the Abbey. Also the Abbey will need to co-ordinate the number of visitors and groups in the building at any one time to ensure that people are able to enjoy their visit.

Group visits apply to 10 people or more. We offer groups the following types of visits:

Self-guided visit

Groups are very welcome to visit and explore the Abbey at their own leisure and/or with their own guide. We provide information leaflets in 19 different languages.

Guided tours

We also offer an hour-long guided tour with one of our team of experienced and friendly volunteers. Booking at least four weeks in advance is essential. Our guided tours (Price: £3.00 per person) will give you a brief account of the Abbey’s history and architecture, and are suitable for visitors aged 18 and above and English-speakers only.  We recommend a maximum number of 12 visitors per guide.

Guide books

We offer a special group discount for guidebooks at £3.99 each (Usual price £4.99). Available in English, the full-colour guidebook gives a fascinating insight into the Abbey and is the ideal souvenir of your group visit.
