We would like to invite you to bring your Year 5 and/or Year 6 pupils to Bath Abbey for our Experience Easter event. This provides the ideal opportunity for children to discover and understand what Easter means today as part of an interactive cross-curricular experience.

Experience Easter will comprise a full two-hour long session during which pupils will get to learn about, explore and reflect on the incredible events during Holy Week and Easter Day. This is a great way for KS2 pupils to learn about a key part of the RE curriculum in an innovative and fun way.

We set up six ‘Stations of the Cross’ throughout the Abbey, each of which enables the children to take part in a different Easter-themed activity. These will include: exploring and developing ideas, creative thinking, and learning about scripture, art evaluation, group discussions and interaction. (For example, children will be asked to write down their individual aspirations, dip their fingers in water while learning about Jesus washing the disciples’ feet, to think about others who suffer as we recall Jesus dying on the cross).

The event is always run on a first come first served basis so please do book in advance to avoid disappointment.
