8) Mission Links

 

We believe that God’s Holy Spirit invites us to engage in Christ’s mission both locally and in other parts of his Church to a bring healing in the name of Christ.

 

We commit ourselves to:

 

+ support the diocesan initiative Changing Lives for Changing Churches for Changing Communities;

 

+ develop a Christian spirituality and life-style relevant to the age both as a corporate community and as individuals;

 

+ be critical of our own impact on the environment as individuals and as a church;

 

+ strengthen our partnership in the Gospel with St Michaels (with whom we are bound in a Group Ministry) through sharing of ministry resources, the use of physical spaces in our buildings and enhanced communication;

 

+ seek positive partnerships for Christian Education and Mission with other city-centre churches;

 

+ raise a sum that (including the 10% of Visitor Income) will bring our total mission link support to a sum equivalent to at least 10% of the Abbey’s income from Visitors, Planned Giving and Collections and hopefully much more. Money raised from Mission Links will support mission activities in Bath, nationally and internationally as determined by

the PCC through its Mission Links Committee;

 

+ endorse the value of links with particular churches across the world for our mutual benefit;

 

+ accept the challenge and responsibility of being a church that is an icon of Christianity in the region and to serve this wider constituency;
