Volunteers

We are currently recruiting volunteers to act as welcomers, stewards and money counters. If you are interested in finding out more, please click here or contact Rachael Holtom (Mondays-Wednesdays) by email: rholtom@bathabbey.org or phone: 01225 422462.

Stewards: Making visitors from around the world feel at home in the Abbey, by answering questions about the history, architecture and religious nature of the Abbey, or the City of Bath and sometimes, just by having a chat with someone who will appreciate it.

It’s a varied volunteer opportunity where you might also be asked to help a person in need - by finding one of the Chaplains for a quiet talk, or to be the eyes of the Bath Abbey team with regard to simple housekeeping tasks and health and safety.

For a full description of a steward's role please click here

Money counters: Assisting the Finance Team to count, bag, reconcile and record the donations made to the Abbey. There are a variety of roles involved, and it helps the Finance Team if volunteers can turn their hand to all of them.

For a full description of the moneycounters role, please click here

Welcomers: Providing a warm, friendly and sensitive welcome to all who enter the Abbey, Welcomers are the first faces a visitor will see and they give brief initial information and accept entry donations.

Footprint Fundraising Volunteer:

We are looking for volunteers to help fundraise for our exciting and transformative Footprint project.

Over the next few months, volunteers will be chatting with visitors to the Abbey about the project and how it will help to restore and renew the Abbey. They will encourage donations to the Footprint Project by promoting our Localgiving Match-Fund Campaign to visitors and help them to make an online donation via the Localgiving webpage.
