Tower Tours

A Tower Tour gives visitors to the Abbey a chance to look at the building from a very different perspective.   The fully guided tour takes 45 -50 minutes and includes standing on top of the Abbey’s vaulted ceiling, sitting behind the clock face, seeing the Abbey bells and a bird’s eye view of the World Heritage City of Bath.  There are 212 steps to the top of the Tower arranged in 2 spiral staircases.

Tickets cost £5 for adults; £2.50 for children (5 – 14) and are available from the Abbey shop on the day only.

Children must be at least 5 years old and accompanied by a responsible adult on a 1:1 basis.

·  “The best £5 I ever spent - after my initial reluctance to spend £5 to walk up a few steps I was amazed at how much this tour offers. We were able to see behind the scenes of the clock and bells, stand in the bell room while they played a song (which was a little loud), and even ring the bell myself. As well as this the views are phenomenal in all directions.”

·    "It was fascinating and I felt like I was in a documentary. The view from the top was lovely with 360 degree views of beautiful Bath.”

·    “It was fascinating seeing the bells and the inside of the clock. The view up at the rooftop was fantastic.”

·    “It's great value for money as it lasts about an hour with two guides showing you up the many steps to the top of the tower…It was one of the most enjoyable things we did in Bath and also the best value.”
