Edward was appointed as Rector of Bath Abbey in 2004. From being Director of Music at a comprehensive school in Gloucestershire, Edward and his wife Hilary spent six years in Uganda with their family as Mission Partners with the Church Mission Society working as Christian educators.  He was ordained in 1991 and has served in both inner-city and suburban contexts. Edward enjoys wild places, walking and cooking.

The Revd Claire Robson, Abbey Vicar

Claire is responsible for the day to day life of the Abbey with oversight of our worship and the ministry of hospitality and welcome to visitors. She came to Bath Abbey from St Paul’s Cathedral in London where she was a Minor Canon. She enjoys the challenge of working together with staff, volunteers and members of the congregation as we seek to serve all those who come through our doors through our commitment to worship, hospitality and engagement.

The Revd Stephen Girling, Abbey Missioner

Stephen joined the Abbey's clergy team in April 2015 and has a particular responsibility for Discipleship, Developing Leadership, Teaching and Learning, and Communication here at the Abbey. After five years as a defence scientist, Stephen was ordained as a priest in the Church of England in 1991 and has served in suburban and rural parishes, most recently as the Vicar of Crofton Parish in Fareham, Portsmouth. He is married to Diane and they have four children. He is constantly looking out for the new things God, in Christ, is doing in his world and learning more about him – this makes the journey of faith a great adventure and Stephen wants to inspire others to take it.

The Revd Evelyn Lee-Barber, Self-supporting Curate

With a background  in business and team development, Evelyn was ordained in June 2013 and came to Bath Abbey as a curate to train. A recent masters degree enabled her to pursue her interest in teams and leadership writing a dissertation entitled 'Servant not master; re-imagining time in Christian Leadership'. She is married to Chris and  has two teenage girls and a cat.

The Revd Jane Mitchell, Abbey Curate

Jane joined Bath Abbey as a curate in July 2016 as the next step in her life’s journey. Having spent 25 years working in the property sector as a chartered valuation surveyor, it was the two years she spent living in Beijing, China that opened her eyes and ears to the power of the Holy Spirit in mission.

Having spent three years living in Bath, she was ordained in July 2016. She has a heart for prayer and loves meeting the variety of people the Abbey welcomes inside its doors every day.

She is married to Stuart and has three children; two who are grown up, and one who is at school.
