The Revd Prebendary Edward Mason, Rector

Edward was appointed as Rector of Bath Abbey in 2004. From being Director of Music at a comprehensive school in Gloucestershire, Edward and his wife Hilary spent six years in Uganda with their family as Mission Partners with the Church Mission Society working as Christian educators.  He was ordained in 1991 and has served in both inner-city and suburban contexts. Edward enjoys wild places, walking and cooking.

 

The Revd Dr Alan Garrow, Vicar Theologian 

Alan is responsible for teaching and learning at the Abbey. Previously Director of Studies for the St Albans and Oxford Ministry Course, he has a particular interest in the very early Church. His publications include Revelation (Routledge, 1997), Matthew's Dependence on the Didache (T&T Clark, 2004) and various contributions to Reflections for Daily Prayer (CHP). Alan enjoys spending time with his wife and young children, badminton and the visual arts. 

The Revd Claire Robson, Vicar Pastor

Claire is responsible for the music and operations departments, formal liturgies, the pastoral work of the Abbey and our ministry to visitors. She came to Bath Abbey from St Paul’s Cathedral in London where she was a Minor Canon. She enjoys being part of the team of clergy and lay people of the Abbey as we seek to discern the call of God in our life together. 

The Revd Dr Sarah Hartley, Self-supporting Minister

Sarah works part-time as a GP in Bristol and Bath and ministers both at the Abbey and at St Michael’s Without. She was previously a Vicar on the White City estate in London.
