Melody Makers is Bath Abbey’s choir for children aged six to 11.
If your child enjoys singing, there can be no better way to develop that talent than to join Bath Abbey’s Melody Makers. As one of the most prestigious venues for choral music in the South West, we have exactly the right experience and facilities in place to offer your child the perfect introduction to choral singing.
So if you live in and around Bath, and are looking for a fun yet educational after-school activity for your child, why not sign them up for Melody Makers? No specialist knowledge is required - just the desire to sing!
Melody Makers will receive singing lessons and music theory tuition from Shean Bowers, our talented Assistant Director of Music, and his team. They will also have the opportunity to take part in concerts and other events in and around Bath.
How to sign up
We are always on the look-out for talented and enthusiastic young singers and accept new members throughout the year. Your child will love learning to sing lots of different types of music, as well as enjoy meeting new friends, making music in the Abbey, and being part of the Abbey family. It is also the perfect way to build their confidence, listening and concentration skills, and help them to learn to work as part of a team.
To join, your child will need to attend an audition, but don’t worry – they do not have to be able to read music or sing like Pavarotti! They will simply be asked to sing a song of their own choice; we’ll provide the piano accompaniment.
To make an appointment or simply to find out more please contact Shean Bowers, Choral Director for Schools and Assistant Director of Music, on 01225 303 326, or email email@example.com
