Lent Lectures 2010 - Details
of programme plus Lent and Easter services
Mondays in Lent 7.30 - 8.30pm
Matters of Death & Life
Sometimes death is at the very centre of
our public discourse, as it has been over the question of assisted suicide
and stem cell research. More commonly, however, death is little discussed,
even in churches. This series of Lent Lectures represents an opportunity to
engage in ethical debates that have hit the headlines, at the same time as
considering some of the pastoral, psychological and spiritual issues that
arise in our personal encounter with matters of death and life.
Each lecture will last for a
maximum of one hour. There will then be an opportunity to stay on for a
short service of Night Prayer.
