Students

Students are a very important part of the life of Bath Abbey. If you are a student, then you are welcome to join in any aspect of our shared life. The places where students are most often to be found are:

Sunday 6.30pm Informal Evening Service

Contemporary worship songs, classic hymns, times of silence, substantial teaching. The informal evening service is very simple and easy-going. A great place to worship God, to meet other people and to hear a wide range speakers.

The teaching series for the Spring term (starting Jan 17th, 2010)
is 'How to Pray' with sermons on, for example, Celtic, Franciscan and Orthodox prayer. Term cards with full details are available in the Abbey.
After the service, students retire to the pub or meet over pizza for further discussion.

All Night Vigil – 19th March 2010

Twice a year we lock ourselves into the Abbey for the night. Starting at 10pm on the Friday and finishing with cooked breakfast on the Saturday morning. In between we play games, engage in creative forms of prayer, talk, sleep and, in the early morning, climb the Abbey tower to pray for the city. If you would like to know more email: alan@bathabbey.org

Facebook “Bath Abbey Student Group”

Join ‘Bath Abbey Student Group’ on facebook to be kept up to date with news about special events and to sign up for the all night vigil.

Sunday Evening Worship Band

The band that plays on a Sunday evening is led by James Scott jscott@bathabbey.org . If you sing, or play an instrument, why not get in touch with James and see about coming along to a practice?

Alan Garrow – Vicar for Students

If you would like to know more about what is going on for students, then do contact the vicar for students, Alan Garrow, at alan@bathabbey.org
