The Gethsemane Chapel

This chapel was first consecrated as a First World War Memorial Chapel. It has also been known as the Norman Chapel (from the fragments of the former Norman cathedral, visible by the chapel's east window).

The Gethsemane frontal, from which the Chapel takes its present name, was dedicated on 3 October 1999.  It is the work of Jane Lemon and links the past connection with war with our present support for Amnesty International.  The Amnesty candle is the work of Melanie Sproat.

You are invited to use the Chapel for prayer, remembering especially the work of Amnesty.
